"Sunrise peaks right at me
Through the broken window pane, and I squint.
Another day already, God I just laid my blonde hair on my
bed.
I roll my eyes at my own self, grab some faith, get out of
bed
And tell the world it’s my turn today.
See, I’ve given up on worry but I worry that I won’t worry
enough,
Makes sense?
My brain is like a riddle- a web you won’t get through, but oh-well.
I’m luckier than lots of you, I envy all the rest,
My reflection’s in the mirror, and my towel’s falling down,
Yeah I’m blessed.
See, it’s been a jagged ride, but I’ve got angels on my side
Laughing ‘cause my life’s a gorgeous mess
And I let go of the all the stress…..
The five o’clock traffic tries to rape me of smile yet again,
I just found peace today, so I promise not to let these
thirty minutes win
‘Cause when I get home, he’s waiting there
In the bed, the walls, love’s everywhere
It’s our own little land, it’s me and him
So I run into the room thanking God for all that’s good,
And he grins.
My work clothes fall away, the day light starts to fade,
I touch his skin
We laugh and for the first time I’m myself again
See, it’s been a jagged ride, but I’ve got angels on my side
Laughing ‘cause my life’s a gorgeous mess
And I let go of all the stress….."
